OVERVIEW

This half-day horseback riding experience takes you into the Cañadón del Arroyo near Estancia 25 de Mayo. After gearing up with helmet and chaps, you’ll set off on a guided ride through steppe, canyon walls, and streams, covering about 12 km in total. Midway, you’ll stop at Cueva del Arroyo, a rustic cave where a gaucho-style lunch is served with appetizers, bifes a la criolla, cheesecake, and drinks. After the meal, you ride back along the same scenic path, concluding your adventure around 2:00 PM.

ITINERARY

At 10:00 AM, you’ll be picked up at your hotel and driven to Estancia 25 de Mayo. After a short technical briefing and being fitted with gear, you’ll start the ride into Cañadón del Arroyo. For about 1.5 hours, you’ll ride through winding canyon trails, cross shallow streams, and pass impressive rock formations shaped by millennia.

Around midday, you’ll reach Cueva del Arroyo, where a rustic gaucho lunch is served: picada starters, bifes a la criolla, dessert, wine, and a celebratory toast.

After the meal, you’ll mount your horses again and return through the canyon, arriving back at the estancia around 2:00 PM. You’ll then be transferred back to your hotel in El Calafate.
